The Clean Air Foundation is proud to be working with Horizon Utilities Corporation to deliver the Cool Shops program in Hamilton and St. Catharines, Ontario

Goals:

• Visit 500 businesses
• Audit 500 businesses
• Distribute 1,000 CFLs
• Distribute 500 LED exit sign bulbs
• Encourage the purchase of 131 CFLs
• Encourage the purchase of 56 PAR / BR CFLs
• Yield peak demand reduction of 55kW

Results:

• Over 950 businesses visited
• 561 energy audits completed
• 1,020 CFLs distributed
• 470 LED exit sign bulbs distributed
• 1,314 CFLs purchased by small businesses
• 228 PAR / BR CFLs purchased by small businesses
• 116 kW of peak demand reduction
• Over ten areas of Horizon territory visited including: Hamilton Downtown BIA, International Village, Barton BIA, Locke Street Merchants, Main West Esplanade BIA, Concession BIA, Ottawa BIA, Waterdown BIA, Dundas BIA, St. Catharines Downtown BIA

Britannia Cleaners’ 2006 summer plans are to install more CFLs and LED exit sign bulbs, which will increase their energy savings even more!
