The Old Curiosity Tea Shop
The Old Curiosity Tea Shop became the first official Cool Shop in Markham on July 11th, 2005. Cynthia and Adam Clement, owners of the Tea Shop, replaced a number of incandescent light bulbs in their busy kitchen and restaurant with compact fluorescent bulbs to reduce their energy consumption. This small action alone will save them over $220 per year! Their next step will be purchasing a programmable thermostat which will enable them to reduce unnecessary heating/cooling.
