The Clean Air Foundation is proud to be working with Hydro Ottawa for the second year to deliver the Cool Shops program in Ottawa, Ontario

Goals:

• Visit 1,000 businesses
• Audit 1,000 businesses
• Distribute 2,000 CFLs
• Distribute 1,000 LED exit sign bulbs
• Encourage the purchase of 263 CFLs
• Encourage the purchase of 112 PAR / BR CFLs
• Yield peak demand reduction of 108 kW

Results:

• Over 1,800 businesses visited
• 928 energy audits completed
• 1,648 CFLs distributed
• 984 LED exit sign bulbs distributed
• 344 CFLs purchased by small businesses
• 75 PAR / BR CFLs purchased by small businesses
• 104 kW of peak demand reduction

Bali Distinctive Interiors has been operating in downtown Ottawa for over 20 years. Store owner Augette Chabot has initiated several energy efficient upgrades to ensure that the business is energy efficient and to save money on the store’s utility bills. To date, Bali Distinctive Interiors has retrofitted all incandescent bulbs to newer compact fluorescent lamps, changed all halogen track lighting to newer fluorescent PAR fluorescents, and completed a T12 to T8 fluorescent tube lighting retrofit. As a result of these changes, Bali is saving over $1,630 on their energy bills per year!
