The Clean Air Foundation is proud to be working with Woodstock Hydro to deliver the Cool Shops program in Woodstock, Ontario.

Goals:

• Visit 200 businesses
• Audit 200 businesses
• Distribute 400 CFLs
• Distribute 200 LED exit sign bulbs
• Encourage the purchase of 52 CFLs
• Encourage the purchase of 23 PAR / BR CFLs
• Yield peak demand reduction of 22 kW

Results:

• Over 300 businesses visited
• 185 energy audits completed
• 408 CFLs distributed
• 228 LED exit sign bulbs distributed
• 1,821 CFLs purchased by small businesses
• 230 PAR / BR CFLs purchased by small businesses
• 110 kW of peak demand reduction

This ladies wear retailer opened in November 2006 and several initiatives have been established to ensure that the business is energy efficient. Some of the changes already in place by Alex Rappopoulous (owner) and Mary Margaret Taylor (manager) include using: a Honeywell MagicStat programmable thermostat, a timer on store front display lights, an HVAC upgraded system, CFLs, florescent Phillips ALTO T12s in store, and front window caulking.
