In June of 2007, residents of Belleville, Newmarket, Toronto and Windsor turned in over 8,000 old, inefficient room air conditioners to a participating Home Depot store and received a $25 gift card for their old unit. This represents a reduction of almost 6 megawatts of peak demand energy - enough electricity to power over 1,500 homes.

Again Keep Cool, gave our utility partners an opportunity to help their customers save money on electricity bills and contributing to a conservation culture in Ontario.

Veridian Connections collected 336 old inefficient air conditioners in Belleville.
Newmarket Hydro collected 291 old inefficient air conditioners in Newmarket.
Toronto Hydro collected 6,278 old, inefficient air conditioners in Toronto.
EnWin collected 1383 old inefficient air conditioners in Windsor.
