Quick Facts

• Did you know? A standard gas mower can emit the same amount of common air pollutants in one hour as driving a new car for over 550 kms!

• According to Statistics Canada, gas-powered lawn equipment releases about 80,000 tonnes of emissions in Canada every year, using 151 million litres of gas.

• Since Mow Down Pollution’s inception in 2001, 18,000 gas lawnmowers and trimmers have been retired and permanently recycled, resulting in the reduction of 406 tonnes of greenhouse gas and smog-forming emissions.
