Mow Down Pollution – 2005 Results

The results continue to be inspiring: Mow Down Pollution has retired over 5100 old mower and trimmers to date! Through this program, it is estimated that HC emissions have been reduced by at least 19.3 tonnes, CO 84.6 tonnes, NOx 0.1 tonnes, and PM 0.4 tonnes.

The goal for 2005 is to retire 3000 old gas mowers and trimmers which will reduce even more emissions of HC, CO, NOx and PM. The USEPA NON-ROAD modeling software has been used for the past 2 years to make the emission reduction estimations. In 2005, it is anticipated to use an off-road modeling software provided by Environment Canada.
